As a Media Sales Representative, you will primarily promote the innovative digital advertising solutions, engage with existing clients to manage and renew advertising contracts and also on new business development. This role involves a mix of phone-based sales and in-person client visits, including occasional overnight travel for trade shows and key meetings. It is a dynamic position within a smaller, fast-evolving company, offering a base salary range of $70,000-$80,000 plus commission, with strong potential for growth and earnings.

OFFICE LOCATION & SALES TERRITORY:

  • This role is a work-from-home/outside sales position based in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA)
  • Territory – National accounts with a focus on clients primarily located in the GTA and Eastern Canada
  • Occasional travel within the province to attend client meetings and industry events; minimal out-of-province travel initially

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & BACKGROUND

  • 5+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably in media sales or digital advertising
  • Experience selling advertising space
  • Proven ability to manage existing accounts and drive contract renewals
  • Comfortable with entrepreneurial sales approaches and multi-hat roles in a smaller company setting
  • Experience with long sales cycles and relationship-based selling preferred

 

EDUCATION

  • Post-Secondary

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) for reporting and presentations
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and digital sales tools
  • Strong understanding of digital advertising platforms and media sales processes
  • Ability to analyze sales data and customer metrics to drive strategy
  • Competence in using virtual communication tools for client engagement and remote collaboration

TYPICAL DAY & DUTIES

  • Manage and renew contracts with existing clients, dedicating approximately 75% of time to account management and renewals
  • Develop new business opportunities, focusing on expanding the client base and promoting the company’s new digital advertising publication
  • Conduct sales primarily over the phone, with occasional in-person client visits and attendance at trade shows or key events
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients across various industries, including property management and finance
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations tailored to client needs, emphasizing the value of digital advertising solutions
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including marketing and editorial, to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives
  • Utilize CRM and sales tools to track leads, manage the sales pipeline, and report on progress
  • Participate in industry events and networking opportunities, primarily within the Greater Toronto Area, to represent the company and generate leads

 

OVERNIGHT TRAVEL:

  • Some overnight travel may be required for trade shows and key client visits, but initially, travel will be primarily local within the Greater Toronto Area.
  • Out-of-province travel is not expected in the short term.
  • Travel frequency will increase as the role expands and the sales program grows.
