As a VP of Sales, you will lead and grow the North American sales organization, managing a team of district managers, account managers, and sales representatives focused on the U.S. market. You will be responsible for setting and executing sales strategies, driving revenue growth, and overseeing key account management, including major retailers. This role reports directly to the CEO and company owner. The role requires approximately 70% travel in the first year, reducing to about 50% after market familiarization. This position offers a base salary of $150,000 – $170,000 plus commissions and/or bonuses, along with other benefits.

 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

      $150,000 – $170,000 Base

      OTE in the first year is $170,000+ (performance-based growth potential)

      Car Allowance $10,000

OFFICE LOCATION & SALES TERRITORY:

      Head Office – Markham, Ontario (Canada); U.S. warehouse and office in Orlando, Florida

      Travel 70% first year, 50% the year after

      Full-time In-office role; no specific weekend requirements, but extensive travel expected

 

EXPERIENCE, BACKGROUND & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

      Proven experience in sales leadership within the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry, preferably with souvenirs, gifts, or related product categories

      Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive sales management experience, including managing multiple sales managers and large teams

      Strong track record of managing key accounts and developing sales strategies that drive significant revenue growth

      Experience working with diverse and senior-level sales professionals, with the ability to gain respect and lead effectively

      Familiarity with the North American market, including both Canadian and U.S. sales environments, is highly desirable

      Ability to navigate complex sales cycles involving big box retailers and key corporate accounts

      Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred but not mandatory if compensated by relevant experience

SALES CYCLE / ORDER VALUE / ACCOUNT SIZE

      Average target account size ranges from $2 million to over $5 million, depending on the business segment

      Sales cycles vary widely due to the complexity of key accounts and new business development, typically ranging from several weeks to multiple months

      Key accounts represent approximately 60-80% of sales volume, requiring strategic, long-term relationship management

      Additional focus on developing new key accounts and expanding sales pipelines to drive significant revenue growth

TYPICAL DAY & DUTIES:

Sales Leadership

      Lead and oversee the North American sales organization, including three major sales managers and their teams, ensuring alignment with company growth objectives.

      Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies focused on expanding key accounts and opening new business in the souvenir and related consumer packaged goods markets.

      Build strong relationships with senior sales managers, gaining respect and effectively managing diverse personalities, including experienced and long-tenured team members.

      Monitor and improve key account management processes, establishing structured sales pipelines and performance metrics to drive consistent results.

      Provide mentorship and guidance to sales managers, helping them develop their teams and improve sales effectiveness.

      Collaborate closely with the CEO and marketing leadership to align sales initiatives with overall business goals.

      Manage pricing strategies and sales forecasting to optimize profitability and market share.

Marketing

      Work collaboratively with the marketing department to ensure sales feedback is accurately communicated and marketing efforts are aligned with market needs.

      Participate in marketing meetings to help prioritize product focus and promotional activities based on sales insights.

      Support potential growth into sourcing and product selection by attending key trade shows and vendor meetings as needed.

OVERNIGHT TRAVEL:

      70% travel in first year (overnight, U.S. focused)

      Expected to reduce to 50% once established

 

SUPPORT & TRAINING:

      Comprehensive onboarding with detailed orientation on company products, markets, and team dynamics

      Job shadowing with current sales managers to understand key accounts and team challenges
