As a Jr. Outside Sales Representative / Jr. Lighting Specialist, you will sell custom lighting, backlit solutions, and lightboxes to custom builders who build retail displays, trade show booths, signage printers, and interior spaces. This position starts primarily as a new business development requiring account management. This is a work-from-office position, with approximately a week per month of overnight travel. The territory includes the Greater Toronto Area, Quebec, and parts of the United States. You will primarily sell to the purchasing department, Project managers, and mid-level management. This is an expansion role, adding to the sales team and reporting directly to the Sales Manager. The base salary is between $75,000 - $80,000 plus commissions.

With a team of 60 employees, they are known for their UL-patented light engines and fixtures. They have two UL-certified manufacturing facilities in North America (Los Angeles, Toronto) and two in Asia (China, Korea). Their client base includes builders, Designers, Architectural Firms, Distributors, Display Printers, Trade Show booths, and Retail Display manufacturers. OFFICE LOCATION AND SALES TERRITORY:

  • Head Office: Markham, ON
  • Work from Office
  • Sales Territory: Primarily the Midwest South/East region of the United States, with additional coverage in parts of Ontario, Canada

 

EXPERIENCE, BACKGROUND & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2 - 4 years of B2B sales experience
  • Ability to travel to the United States
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field

 

Although Industry Experience is not a requirement, preference will be given to those with the following experiences:

  • Experience selling custom-manufactured products/solutions
  • Experience selling custom millwork products/solutions
  • Experience selling electrical and or lighting products
  • Experience selling signage or retail display an asset
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, related field, or relevant experience
  • Bilingual French

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assume full sales management responsibility for assigned territories and accounts.
  • Deliver sales programs, services, and activities, emphasizing value creation.
  • Develop, expand, and maintain account sales networks and pipelines.
  • Strategically establish and nurture key relationships within the territory.
  • Execute in alignment with the company’s sales plan and overarching objectives.
  • Influence decision-makers through every sales phase, from prospecting to post-sales.
  • Champion the company’s reputation, fostering positive relationships with existing customers.
  • Liaise with product development to ensure the viability of proposed solutions.
  • Identify and act upon new sales avenues, leveraging diverse prospecting techniques.
  • Promptly follow up on incoming sales leads.
  • Analyze and interpret specifications to recommend suitable products.
  • Participate in and oversee account budgeting and sales quotas.
  • Address and navigate sensitive customer service concerns, offering expertise in all order fulfillment areas.
  • Recognize areas for improvement and strategize effective solutions within the existing business model.
  • Undertake other duties as they arise.
