As an outside sales representative, you will be selling barber supplies, tools, and accessories to barbers, hairdressers, barbershop owners, and salon owners. This position will focus on new business development and account management. You will report directly to the president. The position offers a base salary of $63K to $67K plus commission, a car allowance by mileage and many other perks!

 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • Base salary of $63,000 to $67,000 plus commission
  • First-year OTE around $85,000
  • Car allowance based on mileage

OFFICE LOCATION AND SALES TERRITORY:

  • Head Office: Calgary
  • This is an Outside Sales role, travelling and meeting clients within the Vancouver, BC territory 
  • Sales Territory: Vancouver Area 

 

EXPERIENCE, BACKGROUND & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2+ years of B2B outside sales experience 
  • Experienced in the barber supplies industry would be an asset 

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Advanced MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

PROSPECTIVE CUSTOMERS / INDUSTRY FOCUS / DECISION-MAKER(S):

  • Barbers, Hairdressers, Barbershop and Salon owners

 

SALES CYCLE / PRODUCT VALUE / ACCOUNT SIZE:

  • The average order size is around $300
  • The sales cycle is 1-3 months
  • Target account size by yearly revenues $25,000+

TYPICAL DAY & DUTIES:

1st Year: 

  • 50% of New Business Development 
  • 50% of Account Management

2nd Year: 

  • 50% of New Business Development
  • 50% of Account Management

 

LEADS:

  • Warm Leads Supplied: 50%
  • List Supplied: 25%
  • Prospect & Create Own List: 25%

 

OVERNIGHT TRAVEL:

  • Less than 10% (Maybe once a year)

 

SUPPORT & TRAINING:

  • Sales Training Program would last approximately one week to familiarize the candidate with production, inventory management, and any other areas needed.
