As an Outside Sales Representative, you will be selling visual display products to architects, general contractors, educational institutions, hospitals and office furniture providers, across Ontario. You will primarily be selling to purchasing departments. This role is a mixture of new business development as well as managing accounts. This is a newly created position and will be reporting to the Sales Manager. The base salary is $90,000 - $110,000 plus commissions.

 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • $90,000 to $110,000 Base Salary, plus commission

OFFICE LOCATION & SALES TERRITORY:

 

  • Head Office - Mississauga Ontario

  • Working from the office 5 days a week.

  • The sales territory is Ontario, with potential expansion plans to include Quebec and eventually Western Canada.

  •  Full-time - Monday to Friday

EXPERIENCE, BACKGROUND & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5 - 15 years of business to business sales experience

  • Experience in commercial architecture, design, construction industry an asset

  • Experience selling to purchasing managers

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Excel - Intermediate

  • PowerPoint - Intermediate

  • MS Word - Intermediate

  • Salesforce.com CRM - Intermediate

TYPICAL DAY & DUTIES:

 

  • 50% New Business Development

  • 50% Account Management

Duties & Responsibilities:

  •  Services existing accounts, obtain orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing and potential sales outlets and other trade factors.
  • Product sales and marketing to outlined Customer Regions.

  • Manage sales pipeline, and key performance metrics to achieve annual targets, with all activities logged in the CRM database.

  • Prepare and conduct formal and rehearsed presentation of products, services and company strengths.

  • Develop in-depth knowledge and expertise with respect with ASI Group VDP products.

  • Focuses sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of dealers.

  • Use Dodge / REED reports to keep abreast of upcoming projects with current and new architectural firms

  • Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies (i.e. ASID, AIA etc.)
    • Responds to the marketplace by providing value through being a knowledgeable rep with timely follow up.
    • Participate in professional associations and conferences.

 

LEADS:

  • 50% Prospecting/Cold Calling

  • 50% following up on warm Leads

 

OVERNIGHT TRAVEL:

• Less than 10% in the first year, with more significant travel required later

SUPPORT & TRAINING:

  • Job Shadowing

  • Mentoring

  • 2 -3 weeks of sales training

  • 2 - 3 weeks of technical training

  • Within 2 - 3 weeks you will be selling to clients
